I am a psychologist for folks with disabilities in the Seattle area. The best part of my life is being the “shift mom,” as she calls me, to my partner’s beautiful, brilliant, 10-year-old daughter. I am the pet parent to a horrible cat named Ghost who hates everything except occasionally holding her tail over a candle until it smokes, and chasing her adopted feline sibling Janeway. Against her better judgment, I also let my partner, Jim, and his dog, Rufus, live with us.
My preferred state of existence is on my couch, in my sweatpants, with a good book and a glass of red wine. That’s probably what I’m doing while you read this.
